Don't you just love them? If you want the pattern, just send me a message and I will send it to you for free. Happy crochet! Love, Sofie

Saint Nicholas

We spent a lovely day visiting Saint Nicholas. No he is not the same as Santa Claus. Saint Nicholas lived centuries ago and saved little children. Each year he brings presents to the kids on his birthday to honour him. He arrives by boat from Spain and it is always a big party and a beatiful time for kids. Today he arrived at my husband's  work and at the little village where my parents live. For our two-year-old son it was exciting. Singing, eating biscuits, presents... and tomorrow it is his birthday! So again, big party. O well I am a very happy mum and I just wanted to share it with you! Love, Sofie

Homemade decoration - christmas ball

I just love this time of the year. It is to cold, windy or rainy to do things outside, but perfect to stay inside and make beautiful, easy, low-budget decorations. Making decoration balls (also for Christmas!) was something that have been on my wish things to do list for ages. Now I finally got the time to do it. And I was very pleased with the result. Also want to make them, see below! Lots of love, sofie Materials yarn (cheap one, I used yarn with a little sparkle in it) balloon hard tex transparent ( a waterproof ready-to-use fabric hardener, you can find it in a craft shop) pencil patience (hahaha) How to make it blow up the balloon (you can choose the size of your ball!) wrap the yarn aound the balloon put the hard tex transparent on the yarn with the pencil hang it up and let it dry for one night make a little tiny hole in the balloon (careful this is the difficult part) take the balloon out of the yarn (you can form the yarn a little bit) ...

Make your own laundry soap

Hi, no it is not my favourite thing to do... the laundry. To me, it is like the never ending story, especially when having two kids, being... o well... you know, just kids.  You know, I like to make things of my own. My grandmother used to make her own laundry soap, so I was thinking... let's do that too! And I must say, it is pretty easy to do. Below you can find my instructions. You can try it, but it is on your own risk. Instructions for 2,5 liters white wash and 2,5 liter regular wash Materials 80 gram grated soap (I use Marseille soap) or soap flakes 40 gram soda (white wash) 5 liter boiled water 60 drops ethereal oil (option, but I do like Lavender, tea tree or lemon for the smell) How to make it boil 1 liter water add the soap flakes stir well until all soap has melted add the other 4 liter water put 2,5 liter of this mixture in another bowl and add the soda to this one  let it cool down for 1 night add 30 drops ethereal oil to each bowl if yo...

Had a beautiful evening

Hi, This evening I cooked a really nice dinner for my husband and me. Kids already ate early and went to bed, cause it is school tomorrow for the oldest one. So it was just the two of us. Sometimes you need to take a moment not being mum and dad... I made French fries, chicory, mushrooms and deer fillet. The last one grilled on my Aga stoof. It was just perfect! And no, no wine but Tongerlo dark. We do like our Belgian beers.  Did you already taste them? Lot's of love! Sofie
